Overview

This reference skill gives an agent six signals that a company may be ready to buy, in order of how strongly the author links them to purchases: past users who moved to a new company, a new leader in the first 90 days, visits to pricing or comparison pages, a change in tech stack, expansion such as funding or a new region, and hiring or layoffs. For each one it explains why it matters, where to look and how soon to reach out. It also lists reply-rate benchmarks for cold, signal-based and stacked outreach. It is part of an open set of go-to-market skills published by Swan GTM.

Use cases

Alternatives

  • Answer a sales objectionThis skill helps answer an objection or a competitor showing up in a deal. It works out what the buyer really means, finds responses that won before, and backs them with proof points from your own win/loss records and customer quotes.SalesSalesObjections
  • Build a company intelligence brief for a target accountThis skill produces a sourced brief on one company, anchored to the reason you want it, such as a call, a review or outbound. It resolves the company, pulls firmographics, funding, hiring and recent business events, and adds extra data depending on the purpose. It checks that each news item is really about the target, adds a rough peer comparison only when enough peers match, and notes anything that returned nothing. It works with Explorium's data tools.SalesSales researchCompany intelligence
  • Build a field-ready competitive battlecard backed by evidenceThis skill builds a reusable battlecard that a sales, support or product team can use in live conversations. The card covers when you meet the competitor, why buyers consider them, where they are genuinely strong, and where you have a real advantage, plus discovery questions, likely objections, supporting proof, and when to qualify out. It stresses honesty about competitor strengths and flags what changed recently to make an older card stale. Separate sibling skills handle one live objection, one named deal, or refreshing an existing card.SalesCompetitive intelligenceSales enablement
  • Build a scored prospect listThis skill finds and qualifies prospects, with separate paths for software companies, other business-to-business sellers, and neighborhood shops. It defines the ideal customer, gathers candidates, checks each one, and scores them. Results come back as a table, or as a CSV file once the list gets long. Compliance rules forbid mass scraping.SalesProspectingLead Generation
  • Build a two-part lead scoring model in HubSpotThis skill guides an agent through setting up lead scoring in HubSpot's newer Lead Scoring tool with two separate scores: one for how well a contact and company match your ideal customer, and one for engagement that fades over time. It starts by asking about valuable job titles, engagement actions and thresholds, then builds the scores in the HubSpot interface. It also finds workflows, lists and reports that still point at the retired HubSpot Score property, which stopped updating in August 2025, and repoints them. It expects Super Admin access, a Professional or Enterprise tier of Marketing Hub, and an ICP tier property created by a related skill in the same repo.SalesCRM administrationLead scoring
  • Build competitor battlecards from deal dataThis skill does competitive analysis in two ways. On demand, it lays out how to win a specific deal against a named rival. Across all deals, it pulls competitor mentions into win and loss patterns and keeps battlecards current, and it can run as a weekly digest.SalesCompetitive IntelDeals
