Overview

mcp-toolsearch-proxy is a proxy MCP server placed in front of a server or gateway with a very large number of tools. Instead of every tool definition, the model sees five: one to search tools by description, one to describe them, and separate calls for read-only and write tools. Calls with arguments that do not fit a tool's schema are refused with the reason. The maker's own benchmark claims roughly a 97% cut in tool-definition size per request for a 500-tool catalog.
