Overview
RDST Agent is a local agent that watches a PostgreSQL or MySQL database for slow queries and keeps a ranked list of fixes. The agent runs on your computer with read-only access and polls the statistics views these databases already keep, so no proxy or application changes are involved. For the queries that use the most database time, it examines the query plan along with the table layout, then proposes adding or dropping an index, changing a setting, vacuuming, or rewriting the query. Each fix lists the time it saves, steps for self-hosted and cloud databases, and SQL to copy, with undo SQL where one applies.
Key features
- Reads pg_stat_statements on PostgreSQL or performance_schema on MySQL about once a minute
- Ranks queries by share of database time and flags ones that slowed down, spiked, or stopped
- Runs EXPLAIN and reads the schema to propose indexes, settings, rewrites, or a vacuum
- Each change shows time saved, setup steps, and SQL to copy
- Connects read-only; history and settings stay on your machine, and AI features send SQL text, plans, and schema but never table rows
- Desktop app, browser UI, and CLI (rdst top, rdst analyze), with an MCP server for Claude Code
