Overview

Hob is a free, open-source desktop assistant from Frigade that runs on Mac, Windows and Linux. It chooses an open-weight model, such as Gemma or gpt-oss, that suits your hardware, sets it up for you and then works offline. You can use it to work through documents and spreadsheets or fill out PDFs without sending your data to a cloud service. Local models are smaller than cloud models, so expect weaker answers on hard tasks.
