Overview
Bits is an open-source personal agent that runs as a background process on your own computer and keeps working when its app is closed. It stores its memory, skills and scheduled routines as plain Markdown files that you can open and change, and you reach it through a desktop app, a quick-ask overlay or voice. It works with Anthropic or OpenAI models, or models running on your machine via Ollama or LM Studio, and connects to other apps over MCP. Risky actions go to a separate reviewer step that asks you when needed.
