Overview

Atticus is a voice assistant for macOS. You hold a keyboard shortcut, say what you need, and release, and it moves windows, finds files, reads your screen, or writes a reply that you insert at your cursor. Simple requests like opening an app skip the AI, and actions you ask for repeatedly become learned shortcuts. It runs on your existing Claude subscription (Pro or Max) through Claude Code, so there is no separate API key, and it asks first before deleting, sending, buying, or editing a file.

Key features

  • Speech turned into text on the Mac with Apple's on-device recognition
  • Arranges windows across displays
  • Searches files by what is inside them
  • Reads the screen to answer questions or draft replies, and never sends them
  • Remembers facts and rules you tell it
  • Safe mode confines the assistant's commands to Claude Code's sandbox
  • Can use a Devin plan instead, via the Devin command line
