Overview
Context Mode is a source-available MCP server plus hooks for coding agents that stops large tool results from filling the context window. It runs tool output in a sandbox and passes back only what matters, encourages the agent to write small scripts that print results instead of reading many files, and records edits, git actions, tasks and decisions in a local SQLite index so work can resume after the conversation is compacted. It installs as a Claude Code plugin and supports many other agent platforms through hooks or a routing file. The project says it cuts tool output by about 98 percent, a figure it reports itself and that was not tested here.
