Overview
AxiomCode Graph is a tool that maps a code repository as a knowledge graph so coding agents get exact answers instead of searching with grep. For each function it records the callers and the functions it calls, worked out by logical rules and, for typed languages, by the type of the receiver instead of matching names. You or your agent then ask three questions from the command line or over MCP: what a change reaches, how one function reaches another, and which tests cover your uncommitted edits. Java, TypeScript, and Python are marked stable, and the JavaScript and C# engines are still in beta. It is source-available under the Functional Source License (FSL-1.1-Apache-2.0), not open source; the license converts to Apache 2.0 later.
Key features
- Call graph built with formal-methods rules; calls resolved by type, as a compiler does
- axiomcode impact shows callers, callees, and tests a change reaches
- axiomcode path shows each hop of the call chain between two functions
- axiomcode tests lists tests reached by uncommitted edits and the command to run them
- MCP server exposes impact, path, and tests as tools
- Install from npm (@axiomcode/code-graph); needs Node 22.13 or newer
