Overview

agent-usage-guard is an open-source mod for Claude Code that steps in before sub-agent fan-out, very large contexts or retry loops use up your plan's usage window. It reads the five-hour and weekly usage that Claude Code reports, counts agents across all your sessions and asks for your OK in Claude Code's usual question prompt before going further. With nobody there to answer, it declines and gives Claude the reason, and it stores only counts, never your prompts or code. It needs Claude Code v2.1.287 or later with mods enabled.
