Ask what your doctor may ask before an appointment

Submit a prompt

Overview

One of four prompts the American Medical Association suggests for getting ready for a doctor's visit. You describe your symptoms, or say it is an annual physical, and the assistant lists questions your physician is likely to ask so you can think through your answers ahead of time. Adding your age, sex and any conditions helps, but keep out names and other identifying details. It helps you prepare for the visit and is not medical advice.

I am experiencing these symptoms—or I am going in for my annual physical. Can you tell me what questions my physician may ask me so that I can prepare now and give the most complete answers possible?

  • Check a medical bill against your insurance EOBThis prompt has the AI take the role of a patient's billing advocate and compare an itemized bill with your insurer's explanation of benefits. It flags charges that look duplicated, do not match the visit you describe, are missing from the EOB or seem coded above the level of care you had. It then writes a short, polite script for calling the billing office, including asking about financial help and a self-pay discount, and it tells the model not to guess at codes it cannot read.Healthcare
  • Clinician Visit-Prep BriefOrganize patient notes into concerns, timeline, medications, questions, and clinician follow-up prompts without diagnosing.Healthcare
  • Customized Workout PlanCreate a workout plan with progressions, equipment notes, and user-specific constraints.Healthcare
  • Draft a prior authorization letterThis prompt writes a letter to an insurance company asking it to approve a treatment or medication, using the patient details you supply. Any details it has to fill in on its own are shown in bold so you can replace them.Healthcare
  • Draft plain-language discharge instructions for clinician reviewA PromptAtlas template that turns a clinician's approved care plan into patient-friendly discharge instructions at a chosen reading level. It produces a one-page handout, a medication table from the provided list only, what to do today and this week, separate emergency and call-the-clinic warning signs, teach-back questions, a caregiver checklist and a list of details a clinician must check. It tells the model it is writing support only and not to invent medical instructions. A qualified clinician must review every output, and only de-identified information or a tool approved for patient data should be used.Healthcare
