Overview

Take Dictation is a dictation app that converts speech to text locally on a Mac and types it at the cursor. You hold or tap a key you choose, talk, and it cleans up filler words, punctuation and spoken corrections with fixed rules rather than an AI rewrite, so it cannot add sentences. It learns names and terms you teach it and has an optional layout mode for emails. It handles English only and requires Apple silicon with macOS 26 or later.
