Overview
Folklore MCP, from Helena Bioinformatics, is a remote MCP server that an AI client such as ChatGPT, Claude or VS Code can connect to without an account. It classifies a supported germline variant under the ACMG/AMP guidelines and returns the evidence behind each criterion. It also resolves gene names and identifiers, links genes and diseases, and searches the scientific literature. It accepts single-nucleotide changes and small insertions or deletions, written in common notations such as rsID or GRCh38 positions. Its classifications need review by a qualified genetics professional before any clinical use.
