Methods
Do a weekly review in about 20 minutes with an assistant
Steps
- Gather last week's calendar, tasks, fired reminders and unprocessed notes, then have the assistant give a plain recap of finished work and slipped items, calling out anything moved again and again.
- Sort every unfinished item into do this week, push to a set date, hand to someone, or delete; let the assistant suggest a call for each and overrule it freely.
- Have the assistant flag overloaded days, meetings with no gap and long free stretches next week, then choose up to three outcomes and give each a calendar slot.
- Turn each decision into a reminder that will interrupt you in time: deadlines two days early, follow-ups on a named date, deferred items at the next review.
- Optionally write one sentence about what to do differently next week.
- Optional: Brinn's one-prompt version of the whole review is listed separately in our prompts.
- Note: Our own-words summary of Brinn's five steps, in its order; the full guide and example prompts are at the source link.
